Our Story
ChildVax was founded with a vision: To ensure that every child in Uganda has access to life-saving vaccines. The journey began in 2021, when a group of dedicated healthcare professionals and community activists, led by Dr. Ivan Chemos, saw the devastating impact of vaccine-preventable diseases in their communities. They witnessed firsthand how lack of access to essential immunization services was resulting in needless illness, disability, and death among children. Recognizing the urgent need for a solution, the team embarked on a mission to break down the barriers preventing children from getting vaccinated. They understood that the obstacles were financial constraints and lack of awareness. Determined to make a difference, they decided to tackle these issues by creating ChildVax.

Programs

Incentive Program
We provide financial incentives to caregivers who ensure their children complete the full vaccination schedule. This initiative is designed to alleviate the economic burden on families and encourage timely immunizations.

Reminder Messages
To address the issue of missed appointments, we implemented a robust SMS reminder system. This ensures caregivers are notified of upcoming vaccination dates, helping to keep their children’s immunization schedules on track.

Community Engagement
We work closely with community health teams and district health officials to identify financially disadvantaged caregivers and educate them about the importance of vaccines. Through community meetings, educational workshops, and outreach programs, we strive to foster a culture of health and prevention.
